Dryer Fire Prevention: Always be sure and change the dryer vent hose on your dryer at least every 3 years. Also, check the outside vent for lint buildup. If you want to see how dangerous lint is, just take a small piece (outdoors-on pavement) and light it. Lint is VERY FLAMMABLE! It would also be wise to place a smoke detector near or in the utility room or closet. It may go off due to excessive moisture if the room is small, in this case, place the detector as near to the dryer unit as possible. Always clean the lint screen between uses and DON'T just pile it on top of the dryer, throw it out!
