Always compare your part with the picture of your part as well as checking again once it has been shipped to you. Subtle differences can cause big headaches. Several years ago, I was sold a water pump for a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. The word Supreme should have told the clerk at the parts store that this car likely had air conditioning. The clerk sold me a water pump for a non-air conditioned Cutlass Supreme even though they don't exist. The difference in the two parts, one for w/air and the other w/out air was about 1-2 inches for the length of the nose of the pump (where the fan attaches). Being a shade tree mechanic, it took me all day to remove the old pump and install a new water pump on the car. Thinking I was almost done, the last step was the belts. I noticed the alternator belt was touching the engine and would not allow the pulleys to move. Needless to say, I had to redo the entire job and trade for the correct part. This cost me another day. Check and double check your parts when choosing and when they are received.
